Storytelling through a Photograph

“Panic is the sudden realization that everything around you is alive” -William S. Burroughs. This is the quote that is represented by this composite photograph. Often times, we as humans do not consider that things around us are living things. But in reality, almost everything around us is living, especially in nature. So, for this image, that is why I decided to have the scene take place in the woods and have the trees represented as humans. When we think of humans, we associate that with being a living object. I also chose the dark colors and cloudiness to make it feel like a dream. This is the the initial realization that everything around us, is in fact, alive. The trees leaning over, almost taunting the man in the middle, represents the thoughts beginning to close in around him in his state of panic and make you feel there is no escape from it.
